WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Hand or machine wash on a gentle cycle (up to 40 degrees).

Hang dry, do not tumble dry, Reshape whilst damp.

Can be ironed at MEDIUM temperature, do not iron elastics.

WEARING A REUSABLE FABRIC FACE MASK HELPS WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

The single-use equipment is desperately needed to keep healthcare workers safe while they save lives. The general public are being advised not to wear either plastic or medical-grade PPE and instead opt for washable, reusable face coverings.

 

This keeps medical supplies going to hospitals and other places where they are most needed. Opting for reusable masks also helps the environment,

 

Many commercial available masks are made from layers of plastic and are designed for a single use. According to an analysis by scientists at University College London, if every person in the UK used one single use mask each day for a year an extra 66,000 tons of contaminated plastic waste would be created. The use of a reusable masks by the general population would significantly reduce plastic waste.

 

Plastic gloves are also being used more often, although evidence suggests that rigorous hand washing is a better way of keeping yourself safe.

HOW TO WEAR A FABRIC FACE MASK:

 

Step one: Before touching the face mask, wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and warm water. You can use hand sanitizer, with a minimum of 60% alcohol base.

 

Step two: Make sure hair is tucked away from your face.

 

Step three: Place the mask over your face, covering your mouth and nose, put the loops behind your ears or use the ties, to tie around your head. Adjust if you need too. Ensure nose and mouth are full covered.

 

Step four: Make sure you avoid touching your face whilst wearing the mask, if you do touch the mask, immediately wash your hands, 

 

How to Remove a Non-Medical Face Mask:

Step one: Before removing the face mask, wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and warm water. You can use hand sanitizer, with a minimum of 60% alcohol base.

 

Step two: Start removing the face mask, one loop at a time from behind your ears, Do not touch the front of the face mask when you are removing it, If you are not planning on using the mask again, Place the face mask somewhere secure, The plastic bag supplied should do the trick.

Step Three: If you are home and planning to reuse the face mask, before re-wearing, Machine wash the mask on a gentle cycle 40 and leave to dry on the washing line.

 

Step Four: After you have finished removing and washing the face mask, wash your hands.
